Michael - Math Tutor

Hi, I'm Michael

Math tutor, problem solver, and believer that anyone can master math with the right approach.

My Story

I was born and raised in France and moved to the United States in my early twenties. I'm fluent in both French and English, which sometimes comes in handy when explaining tricky math concepts in different ways!

I hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science with a minor in Mathematics. While my background is in tech, I discovered my real passion was helping others understand the math that so many people find intimidating.

I've been tutoring for over 10 years now. I started at Diablo Valley College in Pleasant Hill, CA, and eventually transitioned to private tutoring. One thing I'm proud of: most of my students stay with me for the long haul. That tells me we're doing something right together.

How I Teach

My philosophy is simple: understanding over speed. I'd rather you truly grasp a concept than rush through problems without knowing why the answer is what it is.

I believe math isn't about memorizing formulas — it's about building intuition. When you understand the "why," the "how" becomes much easier.

One thing that helps me help you: if you can share your materials, textbook, or specific chapters ahead of time, I can prepare and make our sessions even more productive. I take preparation seriously because your time matters.
